St Margaret is mainly situated on either side of the C950 - the Halesworth to Homersfield road. The centre of the village is clusted around one of a selection of grazing Greens. Fortunately volunteers mow the Green allowing children to play and this is also the site of the Annual Village BBQ. Like St Cross, most employment is found in the surrounding towns of Bungay, Halesworth and Harleston which are all approximately five to six miles away.
The Village Hall Committee recently organised two sessions of First Aid Training. So, the village which now boasts a high proposrtion of its residents as qualified first aiders - qualified to 'Level 3 Award Emergency First Aid' County Councillor David Ritchie allocated a proportion of the council council locality budget towards the cost of the training. The Parish Council, individuals in the village and the village hall committee also made donations towards the training. So, although those attending the courses still had to pay for their place on the course, the cost of the training was subsidised.
