St Cross South Elmham has a population of approximately eighty. The Parish church of St George is situated in the centre of the village overlooking a stream known as 'The Beck' and within the village is a medieval minster. Most children are conveyed by bus to schools in the nearby town of Bungay. Sadly the 'Iron Rooms' (the former community building owned by the church) become unsafe to use for meetings of the council (the building was sold on 5th May 2016), but occasional meetings are held in the village by permission at Batemans Barn (at South Elmham Hall). The major employer in the village is Feedmark
